Index - Lower Town Wall and The Country

It took me several trips to the area to manage to get a view of the cliff without pouring rain, but here finally comes the first of two planned posters of the legendary Index. Hidden in a narrow Cascades valley, walls of perfect granite suddenly emerge out of the rainforest, offering as good trad climbing as you'll find anywhere. Combined with proximity to Seattle and ridiculously short approaches (at least to the lower cliffs), it is almost a wonder that Index isn't more popular.

 

This poster covers the Lower Town Wall and the Country, along with the smaller Blues Cliff and the Quarry/Orc Tower area.
